Darkside Magazine - Nasty Fest

Whether you have ever had your nasties grabbed or not you should definitely draw a big red circle round Saturday August 30th because we are delighted to be able to announce that, in conjunction with Lumiere Romford, we will be screening a host of the most infamous of the DPP’s banned list side-by-side in two cinema screens.

This of course means that you will have to make your viewing choice. Would you rather enjoy Nightmares in a Damaged Brain or visit The House on the Edge of the Park? Will you be chomping on a hot-dog watching John Morghen being relieved of his in Cannibal Ferox or enjoying a tummy rumble in the jungle with Zombie Creeping Flesh? All these films and more will be showing at the Lumiere Cinema from 11 in the morning until 11 at night, so it’s a no-brainer if you’re up for a whole day of sex, horror and perversion – and that’s just in the bar area!

This isn’t an official DarkFest; you’ll all have to wait until November 22nd for that, but we still will be bringing that cosy DarkFest vibe to downtown Romford, scene of Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace.

There will be lots of socialising, plenty of dealer tables and some great guests. As well as our beloved DarkFest gals, Caroline Munro, Maddy Smith, Pauline Peart and Martine Beswick we will be joined by some of the stars of the video nasties themselves, names to be announced as soon as they confirm. As for the films, well what a nasty line-up we have. We’re talking the likes of Anthropophagous Beast, Beast In Heat, House on the Edge of the Park, Mardi Gras Massacre, Cannibal Apocalypse, Cannibal Ferox, I Spit On Your Grave, Last House On The Left, Nightmares In A Damaged Brain and Zombie Creeping Flesh.

We also have some great shorts and documentaries showing. It’s Graham Bright (and his dog’s) worst nightmare!

And that’s not all, folks. Because for this very special event we are republishing our long-out-of print 1998 Video Nasties book in a small print run, and of course yours truly Allan Bryce will be on hand to sign copies all day.
