A warm and witty documentary set in the Scottish Highlands, where the tiny village of Carrbridge hosts the annual World Porridge Making Championship. Competitors from across the globe arrive to battle for the coveted Golden Spurtle, armed with nothing more than oats, water, and salt.

At the heart of the story is Charlie Miller, the long-serving “porridge chieftain,” overseeing his final year in charge while reflecting on tradition and legacy. Alongside him are a cast of colourful contenders - from seasoned champions to inventive newcomers - whose quirks and passions turn the contest into something far more than a cooking competition.

With its cosy tone and playful style, the film becomes a celebration of community, eccentricity, and the joy found in life’s simplest rituals.

Please note each screening will finish with a 8 minute pre-recorded Q&A.
